✦ Synopsis

A sensitive gns chromatographic method for the determination of methylmercury concentrations in milliliter samples of whole blood is described. The method employs osalic acid as a hydrogen ion source, potassium iodide as a halide ion source, sodium hydroxide to remove unwanted impurities and radioactive ?03Hg for the precise calculation of recovery. Ethylene glycol succinate (2"/0) on a solid support of Chromosorb G or Chromosorb T was used as column packing: The advantages and disadvantages of both these packing materials are discussed.
