✦ Synopsis
The determination of the formation constant of an ion pair MB with the aid of the polarographic diffusion current in the presence of supporting electrolyte NA is discussed from the theoretical standpoint. It is indicated that. in order to obtain the true ion-pair formation constant of MB. some other*information from which the ion-pair formation cons&n< of MA can be estimated is required. Since the latter may be small in most cases, however, a rough estimate of it would be sufficient for the correction.
