β¦ Synopsis
The matrix of intraparticle mass transfer coefficients for competitive adsorption of two dissolved organic components on activated carbon is determined from kinetic curves obtained in a continuous stirred tank adsorber using a nonlinear regression method. Stability considerations are included in the parameter estimation procedure.
The applied mathematical approach guarantees the stability of the system of differential equations in the steady state of the considered process. The results for the sorption of phenol and indole demonstrate the important role of cross-term coeficients for the kinetics of this process.

## Abstract In this study, adsorption of ammonia on activated carbon from aqueous solutions has been studied in a batch stirred cell. Experiments have been carried out to investigate the effects of temperature, ammonia concentration, and activated carbon dose on ammonia adsorption. The experimental
The adsorption isotherms of the binary n-alkane mixtures n-hexane/n-octane, n-octane/n-tetradecane, and n-hexane/ n-tetradecane on the activated carbon TA 95 are measured at 298 K and described with mathematical functions. About 40 experimental values of the adsorption excess of the ternary mixture
