โฆ Synopsis
A transient electrochemical technique has been applied to the determination of the electrode/solution interface activity of silver ions during anodic dissolution in sulphuric acid solutions under controlled hydrodynamic conditions. The current density range was l-18 mA/cm*, and the flow rate through the annular flow cell was varied to give Reynolds' numbers in the range 500-14,000.
There is fair agreement with established mass-transfer relationships, but the data in the turbulent regime exhibit a flux dependency. The mass-transfer data calculated from overpotentials corresponding to supersaturation with respect to silver ions at the interface deviate from the rest.

The anodic dissolution of lead in perchloric acid has been studied. Since the reaction is fast, the evaluation of the data becomes complicated due to changes in the active surface area. It has been shown that these changes can be divided into three different types: (1) a macroscopic structural effec
