Trimethylsilylated methyl esters of octadecadienoic, eicosadienoic, and octadecatrienoic acids, after stereospecific oxidation, were investigated by combined gas chromatography-chemical ionization mass spectrometry. Molecular weight could be determined by the ions at m/e(M -1)' and (M + 73)+ and the
