One-dimensional mathematical modeling was used to describe the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) process for preparing TiAI3 and NiaAI intermetallics. The kinetic parameters (activation energies and pre-exponential factors) for the two compounds were obtained by matching experimental
