โฆ Synopsis
An investigation of the Condensation of 2-mercaptothiazoline, aliphatic aldehydes, and secondary amines has been conducted.
Attempts to use aldehydes higher than formaldehyde were unsuccessful. Likewise, positive results were obtained only with alicyclic or substituted-alicyclic secondary amines.
Five new compounds were synthesized and were shown to be thiazoline-2-thione derivatives. A sixth, reported as a thiazolinyl sulfide, was shown also to be a thiazoline-2-thione.
-
Melting points and infrared spectra are reported.
-
A preliminary parasitological investigation indicates lack of anthelmintic action on ascaris and dog hookworm.
-
Testing for rubber acceleration is now in progress.
