✦ Synopsis


The concentrations of Br, Ca, Cl, Co, Cu, K, Mg, Mn, Na and V in cereals, oils, sweeteners and vegetables sold in Canada were determined with absolute instrumental neutron activation analysis. The concentrations of I, Rb, S and Ti were occasionally also determined in the foods mentioned above. The procedure is computerized and it incorporates only one short irradiation and counting. When an element was not detected, its detection limit was calculated. The nuclear interferences and blanks were taken into account.
