โฆ Synopsis
A method was developed for the determmatlon of boron m titanium based on deuteron actwahon ("B(d,n)"C) followed by combustion of the titanium sample m an oxygen stream and trapping the carbon dionde formed m sodium hydroxide The yield due to radmchemlcal separation was checked as follows Proton actwatlon was applied ('4N(p,a)"C) for a htamum sample with known nitrogen content, followed by radmchenucal separation Two reference matenals were analyzed pure and doped Litanmm (BCR CRM 24 and 90) The accuracy, precision and detection lmut of the developed method were evaluated

## Abstract Charged particle activation analysis is used for the determination of boron, carbon and nitrogen in zircaloy. Carbon can be determined instrumentally using the ^12^C (d,n) ^13^N reaction. For the determination of boron and nitrogen the ^10^B (d, n) ^11^C and the ^14^N (ฮฑ, ฮฑn) ^13^N reac
