โœฆ Synopsis

High resolution of capillary columns is generally attributed to the length of the column. In practice, several fi3ctors are restrictive in pesticide analysis. If the length of the column increases, the analysis time becomes longer and the iresidence time of the compound higher. This can cause some adsorption for captafol, iprodione, chlorothalonil, dicloran, and deltamethrine. We consider that 25 m is a maximum length for pesticide residues analysis. Most of the columns give satisfactory resolution up to 10 m. Increasing the temperature increases the risk of thermodegradation of the thermolabile compourids. On the other hand, although high temperature silylation treatments contribute to the deactivation of the capillaries, some activity can be regenerated at high temperatures 181.
