โฆ Synopsis
The application of liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection to the determination of urinary acetaminophen (APAP) metabolites was investigated. A combination of thin-layer and liquid chromatographic techniques was found successful in the resolution of individual APAP metabolites from other sample components. With this approach, unchanged APAP, APAP-4(0)-glucuronide, APAP-4(0)-sulfate, 3-methoxy-APAP-4(O)-sulfate, APAP-3( O)-sulfate, 3-methoxy-APAP-4( O)-glucuronide, and 3(S)-cysteinyl-APAP were determined in human urine. Detection limits were in the picogram range for all compounds investigated.
