β¦ Synopsis
A N-S point contact (platinum tip-a&plane of a BiZSr2CaCu208 single crystal) has been used for the first time to detect the vortex motion in a high-T, superconductor.
The sweep of an external magnetic field led to the appearance of voltage pulses on the contact (when a constant current was passed through the contact), which were associated with the passage of individual vortices throuab the contact. An abrupt decrease of the oulse amolitude with increasing temperature has also been observed. This fact may be explained by thermal fluctuations of the vortex lattice.

The onset temperature ( T,) of the Meissner signal for HgBaZCa2Cu30, (which is 134 K under normal pressure) has been measured under high pressure up to 11 GPa. It is observed that T, increases with increasing pressure at the rate of dT,/dP= 2.0 K/ GPa and then dT./dPbecomes relatively small above 6
