โฆ Synopsis
hlelhyl radicals have been dertzvwd in an armospheric prcssurs. melhane/air dirrusion flame by rhree-pholon ionimlion. The origin band or rhc LransiIion belwern the % 'A; ground elrcwmic s131e and III< 3p'A: Rydberg aate is observed a~ 333.5 nm via two-pholon cxcikon. A second peak BL 340.8 nm is likrlly due LO bolh a methyl radical hot band in the same eleclronic transilion and three-photon ioniwlion or arbor atoms produced by phorolysis. Spatial profiles are presented as a runciion or hrighl above the burner and are discussed in ~crms or resonnm and non-resonnm ioniza[ion processes.
