✦ Synopsis

RNA preparations from livers and kidneys of adult chickens were qualitatively distinguished by DNA-RNA hybridizations involving double saturation experiments. This technique was used to study the temporal and regional synthesis of liver-like RNA in the developing chicken embryo. It was found that the amount of liver-like RNA in the embryo increases from two and one half days to three and one half days of development. Furthermore, this liver-like RNA was found in greater amounts in the areas of three and one half day embryos containing the differentiating liver rudiment.
