✦ Synopsis

A combination of NMR experiments, including I3C and "N DEPT, COSY, NOESY, HMQC and HMBC experiments, was used to assign the structures and stereochemistries of two isomeric bicyclo 12.2.21 octenedione derivatives produced by the reaction of perezone with thiourea, followed by treatment with silica gel. A possible mechanism of the reaction is suggested.

The total assignment of the 13C and the ' H NMR spectra of four derivatives of 1,3diaza-2,4-diboranaphthalene has been performed. The interpretation of the spectra was achieved from the concerted application of direct and long-range heteronuclear chemical shift correlation and homonuclear COSY two-d
