โฆ Synopsis
A simple design of detachable leads has been incorporated in superconducting solenoids. Preliminary tests have shown very satisfactory behaviour of the leads up to 100 A to produce a magnetic field of 5. 0 T in a bore of 22 mm. Such leads will be useful for energizing superconducting magnets in small liquid helium dewars of I-2 ยฃ capacity.
