โœฆ Synopsis

Commenting

on her work, Schwartz (personal communication, 1989) reports that further research during a sabbatical at a major research center has convinced her that the important new focus is "implementation, not what COMPUTERS do, but how teachers and students use the medium to change teaching and learning goals." Hypothesizing that developments such as hypertext, electronic mail, and computer conferencing change reading and writing processes, As evidenced by her essay in this issue, Schwartz is also interested in new definitions of literacy that will emerge because of technology.
