✦ Synopsis

PV in buildings has to meet aesthetic, energy and economic criteria and it also must deal with spatial constraints in the planning of new installations. In some cases, PV designers use surfaces dierent from the optimal one, whilst in others the PV ®eld is divided into two or more dierently oriented subsections. This paper presents some time-saving tables and charts for predicting the energy behaviour and to help size the inverter of such PV systems. These easy-to-use tools have been analysed and validated by four real case studies, taking into account some non-ideal operation conditions.
