High-performance superconducting quadrupole magnets, MQXA, for the LHC low-beta insertions have been designed, manufactured in series and tested. The design field gradient of the quadrupole, which has a coil aperture of diameter 70 mm, was 240 T/m at 1.9 K; its effective length is 6.37 m, and it is
