✦ Synopsis
The numerical difference between differential and stagewise backmixing calculations for reactors is shown to be of the order of l/N2 where N is the number of stagewise reactors. A good estimate of the differential reactor length, or outlet concentration, is given by NIzy,=-N9=yzIN~= -NZ= where y1 and yz are the estimates using N, and N2 stages.
