✦ Synopsis

Abstract

In this paper, a new implementation of rectangular waveguide filters using dielectric periodic structures called electromagnetic crystals is presented. By tuning its forbidden band with the desired rejection band of the rectangular waveguide, the filtering behavior is obtained. The dependence of the filter features as a function of the periodic structure characteristics is shown. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 30: 81–84, 2001.

In this paper we first describe a CAD tool for rectangular waveguide filters with tuning elements based on a multimode network representation. The equivalence between tuning elements of circular and square cross section is then investigated. Next we discuss the CAD of a tunable filter to be used ove

In this paper, a complete design procedure is presented for an original structure of evanescent-mode filters which does not require special tuning techniques or subsequent optimization procedures beyond the design method itself. The method covers the cases of both rectangular and circular waveguide

## Abstract In this paper, the potential use of complementary split‐ring resonators (CSRRs) to design very compact waveguide filters, by etching a CSRR in the center of a metallic sheet, is demonstrated. This original layout reduces the dimensions of the well‐known resonant‐cavity waveguide filters
