✦ Synopsis

A mathematical model is developed for gas sulfiding of a novel unsupported hydrotreating catalyst. It is shown that sulfiding of this catalyst is accompanied by unusually large heat effects, much more so than those observed with a conventional supported catalyst. The results demonstrate that sulfiding procedures and conditions should be tailor-made for different catalysts.
