We demonstrate the tuning of the diffraction efficiency in a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) diffraction grating by mechanical shear deformation. We chose a photocurable thermoset with elastic mechanical properties as the host material to demonstrate the tuning effect. Raman-Nath gratings we
