Abstract
The present paper proposes a novel design of a Wilkinson power splitter, which utilizes the nonlinear dispersion characteristic of a left‐handed transmission line (LHTL). The proposed device has been fabricated using the lumped L‐C −λ/4 LHTLs instead of the conventional TLs to implement branch arms. It has effectively improved the bandwidth of return loss and isolation, and reduced the whole size of the device as well. The measured results show good consistent with the simulation results. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
