Abstract

A rectangular waveguide‐to‐coplanar waveguide (WR‐to‐CPWG) transition is proposed. This original structure cascades two low‐loss transitions: a ridged waveguide‐to‐microstrip line transition and a membrane‐supported microstrip line‐to‐CPWG tapered transition. Electromagnetic simulations indicate that the insertion loss in the Ka‐band is less than 0.5 dB in a 2.5‐GHz bandwidth. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
