β¦ Synopsis
08 Steam raising (boiler operation~design) more completely in the boiler, due to the earlier release of biomass volatiles. The NOx emission data in the transient experiments indicate that biomass more readily releases NOx even at lower temperatures. However, when the furnace reached higher temperatures, the blend released less NOx than coal despite the higher N content of FB; but CO emission increased. The long duration experiments in the modified facility confirm NOx reduction with the firing of blend. Large scale pilot plant tests performed at the DOE National Energy Technology Laboratories, Pittsburgh confirm improved combustion, but NO~ emission are the same for both the coal and blend.

A cogeneration system (CGS) generating both power and heat for district heating and cooling is required to be able to cope efficiently with its heat demand change. In this paper, two types of gas turbine CGSs were investigated: (1) a CGS using a dual fluid cycle; and (2) a CGS using a combined cycle
## Abstract A highβefficiency cogeneration system (CGS) is proposed for utilizing highβtemperature exhaust gas (HTEG) from a gas engine (GE). In the proposed system, for making use of heat energy of HTEG, H~2~O turbine (HTb) is incorporated and steam produced by utilizing HTEG is used as working fl
