✦ Synopsis
A four-pole mixed-resonator filter comprised of combline ( ) resonators and TE -mode dielectric resonators DRs has been designed 01 using the FDTD method so that only minimal tuning of the prototype is required. Resonant frequencies, interresonator coupling through rectangular slots, and unloaded Q-¨alues are calculated for the DR and the combline resonator, and they compare extremely well with results a¨ailable in the literature. S-parameters are computed o¨er a large bandwidth to ¨alidate the impro¨ed spurious performance of the filter, and they gi¨e excellent agreement with measured results.
