The branch bags and C O 2 control system were developed in order to study the effects of longterm exposure to elevated CO 2 of branches on mature (16-year-old) Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis). The CO2 control system has been de- signed to maintain elevated CO2 regimes in branch bags and open-topped chambers.
