Monstrilloid copepods were collected during zooplankton surveys carried out off the coasts of the bay of Toulon, France, in the Western Mediterranean Sea. Among these specimens, females of two species of Cyrnbasoma Thompson, 1888 were found. One of them was determined to be a new species, C. nicolet
