✦ Synopsis
A system of "hot" bandsoriginating from the II= 1 level of the/& vibrational mode in the zpolarized 2A,,(z2)+2B,,(~Z-y*) transition of the planar CuCB-ion of (methadonium),CuCl, is described. Their form suggests that the complex has a pseudo-._ tetrahedral geometry in the excited electronic state.
