β¦ Synopsis
A 49-year-old man developed occupational leucoderma after the contact with para tertiary butyl catechol He was a worker in a polyester resin plant Allergic reaction was found at the patch test site with p-TBC and depigmentation was induced at the site A cross reaction to para tertiary butyl phenol was also observed.
Histologically, the depigmented lesion revealed decreased number of melanin and DOPA-positive melanocytes in the basal layer.
The mechanism of depigmentation was discussed.
