✦ Synopsis

The anther segments of Paeonia suffruticosa Andrews were cultured for callus formation on MS medium supplemented with 2,4-D and BAP(each 1 mg/l) in the dark at 25Β°C for six weeks. Gallic acid, methyl gallate, ethyl gallate and 1,2,3,4,6-penta-O-galloyl-Ξ²-D-glucose were isolated from the ethanol extract of callus, and paeoniflorin was identified. A dose of 5 ΞΌg/ml pentagalloyl glucose resulted in depigmentation of B-16 melanoma cells without inhibition of cell propagation.

## Background: Cidofovir [(s)-1-(3-hydroxy-2-phosphonyl-methoxypropyl) cytosine] is a commercially available nucleotide analogue that has antiviral activity against a broad range of dna viruses and is effective against human cytomegalovirus infection. ## Objectives: We aimed to study the effect o

Four mouse BI6 melanoma subclones (G3.15, G3.5, G3.12 and G3.26) exhibit progressively greater growth capacity in vitro and in vivo. Previously, non-metastatic G3.15 cells were sequentially converted, in monolayer cultures, to the moderately-metastatic G3.5 cells, and then to a highly-metastatic G3.

A variant of B-16 F1 mouse melanoma was selected for its ability to survive and replicate in the presence of melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH). Although the variant (MR-4) was completely resistant to growth inhibition of MSH, cyclic AMP was still able to block cell replication. Tyrosinase activit

Consumption of soy products has been linked to a reduced mortality and morbidity from a number of cancers. Genistein, one of the principal soy isoflavones, has been shown to inhibit the growth of a number of tumour cell lines in vitro; however, a role of genistein in retarding tumour growth in vivo

The mouse B16 melanoma metastasizes first to the lungs and secondarily to systemic sites, involving mainly the adrenals, ovaries and pancreas. Systemic colonization effected by intracardiac injection of tumor cells establishes similar patterning, but in addition frequently colonizes the bones. To as

We have previously reported that neuropeptide ␣-melanocyte stimulating hormone (␣-MSH) successfully inhibited Matrigel invasion and haptotactic migration of B16-BL6 melanoma cells towards both fibronectin and laminin without affecting their growth. In the present study, we investigated the inhibitor
