โฆ Synopsis
The attenuation of the a-y correlation was measured in dependance on the velocity for the first excited 2+ state in ?ONe recoiling into vacuum. The observed attenuation can be explained by a time-independent, isotropic magnetic hyperfine interaction between the nucleus and mainly those electron configurations having unpaired lsl/e or 2s,,, electrons. The possibility of measuring nuclear magnetic moments of states with lifetimes down to lo-'* set is discussed.
