β¦ Synopsis
Changes in the meson-nucleon coupling constant and the vertex form factor in nuclear matter are studied in a modified Skyrme Lagrangian including the o--meson field that satisfies the scale invariance. Renormalization of ga, the axial-vector coupling constant, and the nucleon mass are studied in a consistent model. The results are in good agreement with the empirical evidence. A calculation of the ~-N commutator, X-term, indicates that the medium changes its magnitude considerably.

We calculate the modification of a rho meson in nuclear matter through its coupling to resonance-hole states. Starting from a recently proposed model, we include all four star resonances up to 1.9 GeV. In contrast to previous works, we include not only resonances that couple to the rho in a relative
