✦ Synopsis

Cloudpoint data for polystyrene/methylcyclohexane solutions extending over moderate ranges of pressure and molecular weight are available in the literature. Those data are supplemented with new results from this laboratory to fill in gaps and extend the MW range (to 761 5 MW/amu I 2 X lo7). The resulting data net is discussed and reasons to extend studies to higher pressure are presented. 0 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

High-pressure density and viscosity data of polystyrene solutions in methylcyclohexane have been generated at 340, 360, 380 and 400 K using a falling-cylinder type viscometer up to 35 MPa. Measurements were conducted with two different molecular weight polystyrene samples (M w =50 000 and 700 000) i

Osmotic compressibilities were determined as a function of temperature for solutions of polystyrene in cyclohexane and methylcyclohexane by static light scattering, the measurements extending well below the theta temperature, T Ο . Virial coefficients extracted from the data are compared with litera
