โฆ Synopsis
The occurrence of delusional pregnancy in three elderly women is reported. Although two of the three patients had dementia, psychodynamic factors were nevertheless thought to contribute to the formation of the beliefs. The cases draw attention to the occurrence of this delusional belief in elderly female patients and illustrate the importance of considering psychodynamic factors in understanding psychopathology in organic disorder.
