✦ Synopsis

THE critical current lc of a type II superconductor, taken from a short sample measurement, is not a well defined function of the magnetic field H. Sometimes le(H) depends on the way current and field are raised.

This means there is an ambiguity of Ie which can be explained by circulating currents in the sample material.t, z

In this paper the influence of the circulating currents on the critical transport current is described.
