✦ Synopsis

Phase conjugation by degenerate four wave mixing of the CO2 IOP ( ) emission line was done on SF6 where many resonances lie within their 30 MHz Doppler linewidth. The observed sub-Doppler spectra have pecuIiar lineshapes which are explained as interference effecta between the emissions from the different resonances in the nonlinear susceptibilities.
