โฆ Synopsis
Integral and differential cross sections for rotational scattering (jmi + i'mj') in (He,LiH) ware obtained by the closecoupling method with 121 channels using the ab initio potential due to Silver at an energy of 950 cm-'. The results me compared with previous work using empirical potentials, with experiment, and with approximate calculations.

Rotationally inelastic cross sections have been calculated according to a quantat static rotation (sudden) approximation and the quasiclassical method for 4He + If(j = 12) (rigid rotas) at an ioitial relative kinetic energy of 0.M eV\_ Comparison of the two sets of results shows excelient agreement.
