✦ Synopsis


The deformation mechanisms of titanium have been studied for coarse-g&red specimens deformed in tension at 815Β°C. Slip planes of the types {lOi and (lOi1) were observed, and it was noted that (lOil] slip occurs more frequently than at room temperatures. A decrease in the amount of twinning was observed; however, considerable twinning was observed on ( 1121) and ( 1122} planes.

No instances of basal slip or (1012] twinning were noted at 815Β°C.

Gleitebenen des Typs (1OiO) und {loll) wurden beobachtet, und es zeigte sich, dass {IOil] Gleitung hlufiger als bei Zimmertemperatur auftritt. Es wurde eine Verringerung der Zwillingsbildung beobachtet; jedoch zeigte sich erhebliche Zwillingsbildung auf den ( 1121) und Ebenen. Bei einer Temperatur von 815Β°C wurde weder Gleitung auf der Basisebene noch Zwiilingsbiidung beobachtet.
