✦ Synopsis


The paper reports the results and analysis of an experimental investigation undertaken to study the deformational characteristics of high strength concrete under repeated uniaxial compressive loads.

Changes in the parameters like the elastic and inelastic strain, modulus of elasticity, mechanical hysteresis and stress-strain behaviour are studied in relation to the cyclic loads.

The research work has indicated a suitable criterion for defining .fatigue failure of concrete, and has established an empirical relation between the parameters, modulus of elasticity and fatigue life, for predicting the remaining fatigue life of a partially fatigued concrete prism.
