This is the first volume of the new DLI Basic Course in French. It contains 15 lessons, one for each day of the first three weaks and initial phase of the course.Every fifth lesson is a review lesson.
the objective of the initial phase is to enable the student to distinguish and produce the sounds of French with sufficient accuracy to understand and speak French within the limits of the vocabulary and grammar included in this volume.
the content of the volume includes the entire phonology and, as indicated,also the first grammar lessons.The stage is set, as well, for area studies, i.e. French life and culture.
