β¦ Synopsis
A simpel description of the low temperature properties of the synthetic conductor LixPt(mnt) is presented. The compound undergoes a Peierls transition at T c = 215 K . Below T c the observed magnetic susceptibility, conductivity and thermopower can be explained by occurrence of a large number of spin-carrying defects. This can indicate existence of neutral kinks in an incommensurate CDW-system.
