The rates of oxidation of four a-keto acids, glyoxylic, pyruvic, phenylglyoxylic, and 2oxobutyric acids by Cerium(1V) in H2S04-HaHS04 and HzS04-HC104 solutions, have been studied spectrophotometrically. The rate data suggest that CeSO:' is the most reactive of the Cerium(1V)-sulfate complexes presen
