โœฆ Synopsis

THE Institution of Chemical Engineers is organising a symposium to be held in London on 12, 13 and 14 September 1972 on "Decision, Design and The Computer".

The meeting is the 117th Event of the European Federation which is also the 5th European Symposium of The Working Party on "Routine Calculations and the Use of Computers in Chemical Engineering". The event is being organised as the last major event of the 50th Anniversary year of the Institution and the Organising Committee is being assisted by The Working Party on Routine Calculations and the Use of Computers in Chemical Engineering.

As readers will be aware in the week preceding the symposium "Decision, Design and the Computer" there will also be held in Paris an International Congress "Chemical Engineering at the Service of Mankind" which is also being organised under the auspices of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering. The week following the meeting (that is to say, the week beginning 18 September), the International Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Exhibition will be held at Olympia, London. Thus these three meetings will provide a great attraction for chemical engineers outside Europe and hence all three events can be expected to have a truly international membership.

With reference to the symposium "Decision Design and the Computer" it is expected that more than 40 papers will be presented and discussed. These have been arranged in five sessions as follows:
