✦ Synopsis
Dear Mr. Wittner:
This lengthy letter is the best way that we can think of to thank you and your staff for supporting our recent research efforts in your school system.
May we remind you that we received complete cooperation from all principals, all teachers, and from all students. Without this type of cooperation, meaningful field research cannot be completed. Part of this success must also be attrjbuted to the mechanism that has been set up by your school system to initially screen research activities.
As part of the agreement between your school system and ourselves, a report of the research was promised. Enclosed is a dissertation which to some extent fulfills that obligation. But we feel that an attempt to interpret this somewhat theoretical, somewhat pure, and somewhat lengthy research for your teachers may be in order.
It is with this above intent that we write the following o en letter to your teachers. We intend to publish this letter and the letter to the teachers in a researcg journal, and we now request your permiasion to do so.
