In the near future, much of North America is shrouded in darkness due to a nuclear winter. One area particularly affected is NNYC... New New York City... a place now only accessible by flight, hidden from the rest of the world by large walls and destroyed bridges.
It's been decades since sunlight has touched NNYC and the combination of darkness and isolation has created a modern Sodom and Gomorrah, where crime and sin are hidden by the neverending shadows. However, as the darkness is finally beginning to lift, a serial killer begins to cut a bloody swath across the city. The NNYC police, riddled with corruption and apathy, are at a loss.
That's when the Mayor of NNYC contacts Detective John Phillips, a small-town Pennsylvania cop, who recently stopped his town's own high-profile serial killer single-handedly. Phillips, who has never been outside of his town, is quickly flown into the insanity that is New New York City.
