β¦ Synopsis
The problem of data recording in radiotherapy is considered from diverse points of view by different authors. For most clinicians, the "data" of radiotherapy consist essentially of a detailed history of the disease and the size of the dose delivered to a number of specified points in the body.
By comparison, the physicist usually thinks of automation, igodose curve plotting, simulators and automation of treatment apparatus. These two viewpoints are not in opposition to each other, but express rather the complementary nature of the clinical and technical aspects of the problem, which are considered in this paper.
