We consider chaotic electromagnetic wa¨es which are candidates for secure communications, target detection, imaging, and remote sensing. Although baseband chaotic wa¨es share a wideband feature with short pulse electromagnetic wa¨es, these chaotic wa¨es ha¨e, in addition, multiscale characteristics,

β¦ Synopsis
An electronic system architecture will be proposed to process data based on wave propagation. An analog input value can be converted into a digital thermometer code by de"ning wave propagation as logic &1' and propagation failure as a logic &0'. This principle of data processing is the basic step in #ash analog-to-digital conversion. The performance of the proposed #ash analog-to-digital converter based on wave propagation will be discussed by means of simulations.
