✦ Synopsis

Recently in a fine chemical factory loss of thermal control occurred during the first attempt at industrial scale-up of the isomerization reaction of an oxime. The cause of the accident was investigated by studying the thermal stability of the reagent and products of the involved reaction. Eventually the reaction was studied in the reaction calorimeter: the qualitative and quantitative information gained are of great importance for the optimization and mastering of the process.
